Property Details:
Erected in 1918, 345 Sumner Street was once inhabited by Sherman Gilmore Powley, married to Elishia Powley and father to Warren Powley.

S. G. Powley owned and managed the Sherman Powling Hauling Business an in 1918, also owned the Oakville Dairy, an enterprise located just behind their residence on Sumner Avenue.

An archival photograph captures the Powley's: six figures stand proudly in front of the dairy building, among them young Warren Powley, positioned third from the left. Mrs. Powley stands beside him, second from the left, while S. G. Powley, dressed in his suit, stands to the right. In the background, two horse-drawn carts hint at the industrious activity that defined the Powley's' days.

Preceding Warren's formative years within the dairy's ambit, a photograph from 1915 captures him at the young age of five, beside S. G. Powley atop a horse-drawn wagon traveling through Sumner Avenue. It's a scene of familial bonds and entrepreneurial zeal, demonstrating Powley's' ethos of enterprise and resilience.

The house retains its architectural and historical significance to the present day.
