Property Details:
George Parrick was born in Essex, England in 1877 and arrived in Canada in 1907. He settled in Oakville with his wife Hattie and son Edwin, eventually purchasing this lot at 187 Allan St. in 1909. He was a bricklayer by trade and likely took part in the building of his house which was completed in 1912. The family continued to live in the house until November 1931 at which time it was sold.

This property is in the Brantwood Survey which is bounded by Lakeshore Road, Allan Street, Macdonald Road and Gloucester Avenue. The farm had been owned by C.W. Anderson and was developed by the Cumberland Land Company and their agent, W.S. Davis. It was named Brantwood because of Anderson's friendship with the descendants of Joseph Brant. Development of the survey started in 1907.
